Google Ads + GA4

The ads are not failing. The tracking is.

What. $3,460 spent, 2 conversions recorded, both calls.

So what. The main ad landing page took 340 sessions and logged zero form events, so form leads cannot be seen.

Now what. Fix form tracking in week 1, then judge the campaigns.

The problem

Every one of your client accounts has a next step. Nobody has the hours to find it.

  • Your biggest accounts get a real plan. It costs you a weekend a month.Working out what to scale, cut and fix is senior work, so only the biggest get it.
  • Your healthy accounts get a report, and nothing more.Nobody is complaining, so nobody looks further. Then at renewal the client says they are not sure what they got.
  • Your slipping accounts get missed, until the client spots it.Tracking breaks or results drift. You hear about it on a call, from the person paying you. That is how an account is lost.

The Playbook gives every account a real plan each month, and a warning if it is slipping.

At renewal, you can tell every client what they got.

The Brief

Written for you, the owner. Where the account stands, what is not working, what is, the decisions waiting on you, and what to say on the client call.

At risk Health 4.1 / 10

The account is buying and earning attention it cannot yet measure or convert. Fix measurement in week 1, cut waste in weeks 1 and 2, then scale what the numbers support.

Concerns

4, largest first
  1. Google Ads returned 2 calls on $3,460. $1,730 each, and no form lead can be seen at all. Confirmed
  2. $1,317 went where it could not convert. $412 on irrelevant terms and $905 on one broad-match ad group with 0 conversions. Confirmed
  3. Form events overstate leads nearly 15 to 1. 132 form events against 9 confirmed leads. Confirmed
  4. The new traffic has nowhere to go. 694 new sessions landed on two posts with no contact link. Confirmed

What no single tool shows

6 findings, each from two sources read together
  1. GA4 + Search Console
The traffic jump is not buyers. 71% of the new sessions landed on two blog posts with no contact link. In GA4 alone, sessions up 84% reads as a win.
  2. Google Ads + GA4
The ads are not failing. The tracking is. The main ad landing page took 340 sessions and logged zero form events, so only calls count as conversions.
  3. Business Profile + lead count
The best lead source gets no hours. Profile calls rose from 10 to 14 after one small job, while $3,460 went to ads nobody can judge.
  4. Meta Ads + GA4
Meta is paid for clicks, and cannot see a lead. 212 clicks at $3.02 and 0 tracked leads. The pixel records page views only.
  5. Instagram and Facebook + GA4
Social posts send nobody to the site. 16 posts reached 1,240 accounts and produced 6 clicks. None carried a link to a service page.
  6. AI answers + site crawl
AI assistants rarely name the firm. Named in 4 of 20 test questions. No page has author or business markup, and service pages open with slogans.

Decisions waiting on you

  1. You, as agency lead
Approve holding Google Ads spend flat until form tracking passes testing.
  2. Client, via the account manager
Send this month's intake and call log before week 2.

Wins

3
  1. Business Profile demand rose at no media cost. Calls 10 to 14, views 510 to 1,480. Confirmed
  2. Search clicks rose 61% to 1,310. Two posts reached page one. Confirmed
  3. Confirmed leads rose from 7 to 9. An early signal on small numbers. Likely

On the client call

  • Lead with. Business Profile calls rose from 10 to 14, and profile views nearly tripled to 1,480.
  • Be straight about. The ad landing page records no form submissions, so $3,460 of Google Ads shows only 2 calls. Tracking is fixed in week 1.
  • Ask for. This month's intake and call log, and the customer list for review requests.

Questions

Common questions

What access do you need, and who sees our data?

We send you one link. You approve access to each source through it, and you can remove that access at any time. Playbooks sit behind a login. Our privacy policy covers the rest.

Where is our data stored?

Playbooks are stored on our hosting provider's servers, behind a login. We read your sources only through the access you grant, and we use the data only to produce your Playbooks. Details are in the privacy policy.

Can't I do this with Claude myself?

For one account, yes. For every account, every month, you'd be connecting nine sources per client and keeping them connected. That is at least 3 hours per account per month that we take off your team.

Does the AI explain why a number moved?

Yes. It reads every source together, so it checks a move in leads against ads, rankings and tracking, then turns it into a task. See it on two accounts for $0.

Why a fixed monthly fee, not a price per client?

Your fee stays the same up to your plan's account limit, and the rate per account falls on bigger plans, from $48.63 down to $36.63.

Can I trust the numbers?

Code computes every metric, and the AI does no arithmetic. Each source gets a health check, and a broken connection is flagged in the Playbook.
